Mission
At Waves of Wonder Montessori School, we strive to provide a stimulating, child-centered environment in which children are encouraged to wonder, explore and learn. Our environment encourages a lifelong love of learning as well as provides the child with self-control by encouraging independence and freedom with limits of respect and responsibility. This is necessary to fulfill their utmost intellectual potential and the development of the whole child.
Philosophy
Education at Waves of Wonder Montessori School is based on the theories and work of Dr. Maria Montessori, which views education as allowing children to discover knowledge by engaging in meaningful, self- directed activity in a stimulating and nurturing atmosphere. The aim is to help children grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically while also developing self- awareness and an understanding of themselves as members of the world community. At Waves of Wonder Montessori School, children build the skills and self-assurance that lead to a lifetime of learning, in a multi-age learning environment that nurtures the unique personality and individual abilities of each child.

Membership
The school is a member of the International Montessori Council (IMC), which is an international organization of Montessori schools, the men and women who lead them, own them, or serve on their boards, and other organizations interested in supporting the goals of the IMC. As an independent Montessori professional and accrediting organization, the IMC serves the entire Montessori community.
Affiliations
Waves of Wonder Montessori School is the FIRST Montessori school in THE NATION to become Blue Zones Project Recognized. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held at the school on July 28th, 2016.
The Blue Zones Project – Southwest Florida recognizes and brings awareness to the benefits of healthy eating and the connection our food has to our daily lives and well-being.
USA Montessori Census
Waves of Wonder Montessori School participates in the USA Montessori Census. Managed as a collaborative effort of the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector (NCMPS) and The Center for Research on Developmental Education (CRDE) the census is one of three projects that will build a comprehensive database related to the methods and outcomes of Montessori education in the United Sates.
